It appears that Sombra will be the next Overwatch hero to be reworked, which will arrive in a patch on the PTR soon. Sombra has been void of reworks of this kind, making it long overdue, given that she is one of the least-used heroes on the entire roster. Considering how much Blizzard plugged her with the whole viral campaign prior to her reveal, you think that more time would’ve been spent on her.
Coincidentally, the changes that are taking place were added as part of the most recent patch, though this appears to be a mistake, and will not be activated until the PTR. Regardless, Overwatch principal designer Geoff Goodman states that they are looking to enhance Sombra’s hacking abilities to give her the ability to disable any hero abilities that require a button press. This makes her ultimate less effective too, though it won’t be as frustrating to use.
Anyway, said changes have been listed recently, and you can find them below:
- No longer gains ult from health pack healing
- Weapon Spread decreased by 10%
- Hacking speed increased from 0.8s to 0.65s
Hacking will disable more abilities, including:
- Genji – Double Jump/Wall Climb
- Pharah – Hover Jets
- Hanzo – Wall Climb
- Lucio – currently running Crossfade song will be disabled
- Mercy – Angelic Descent
Overwatch is now available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
